The average home in the UK currently costs £299,764, according to Zoopla. However, how much property this amount of money will actually get you varies drastically.

Location really is key when it comes to making your money reach even further with an investment property. And across Britain, the average house price can buy you anything from a studio apartment in the capital to a four-bedroom mansion in Scotland.

The following 10 examples are all homes listed on Zoopla costing roughly the average house price.
