With a motorcycle throbbing beneath you, who wouldn't feel the urge to explore? These nimble machines are stunningly adept at taking you to a huge variety of new places. Leave your worries at the door with a tailored motorcycle insurance policy providing cover in case of any mishaps.

The UK offers a stunning countryside, elegant coastlines, picturesque towns and more importantly, mile after mile of roads to explore. Here are some favourite destinations that have been thrilling riders since the dawn of the age of the motorcycle.

East Anglia

This area of the country is fabled for its sense of space and the never-ending flat landscape that provides excellent visibility and a stirring ride. Make sure to take in Suffolk's unspoiled coastline and glorious countryside before taking your motorcycle direct into Ipswich, a perfect location for a spot of lunch with its picturesque waterside developments.

Mid Wales

Wales is a beloved destination of many motorcyclists offering seemingly endless countryside roads to explore and enjoy. When the weather is good, Wales is shown off in its finest glory with verdant fields and rolling countryside for the taking. The roads are maintained in excellent condition and this run will thrill most bikers. Be careful after passing the Devils Bridge to Rhayader as the roads become slower and the livestock is not always fenced in so extra care is needed to avoid an intimate encounter with any of the local sheep.

Snowdonia National Park.

Snowdonia is a hugely popular destination for tourists of all kinds. This is easy to understand as soon as you arrive as it is an area of outstanding natural beauty. Windswept vistas, icy lakes and the highest UK mountain south of Hadrian's Wall all stretch out invitingly. With clear weather, outstanding views of up to 30 miles present themselves. Quite a thrill with the rolling hills stretching out beneath you. Take the A5 for a fluid rise after an initial twisty start and give your machine a workout.

The Stonehenge circuit.

Here's your chance to visit the county of Wiltshire, one of England's most picturesque settings, and an area of the country that is steeped in history. Enjoy a ride that takes you through the New Forest before crossing the glorious desolation of Salisbury Plain. As you will be passing right by Stonehenge you will have the opportunity to stop and ponder the significance of this ancient site.

Glasgow to Inverness.

Test your mettle on the A82, surely one of the U.K.'s most majestic sections of road. As you eat up the miles between Glasgow and Inverness taking some of the incredible scenery including Loch Lomond and Loch Ness. You may want to take your time with this stunning journey and there are a host of guest houses and hotels and campsites en route to accommodate you.

All of these journeys are a fantastic opportunity to leave the world behind, commune with your machine, and enjoy some truly stunning scenery so get those engines revving. Before you tackle any of these trips make sure your bike insurance is in order.
