Airport
Helsinki’s airport is called Helsinki - Vantaa and located about 40 minutes north of Helsinki.

Travelling from the airport
By taxi: Helsinki-Vantaa to Helsinki city centre €30 (35-40 minutes)
By bus: Public transport YTV buses to Helsinki city centre (415, 451 and 615) depart from outside both terminals €3.40 (40 minutes). The Finnair City Bus stops at major hotels and costs €5.20.

Getting Around
Public transport in Helsinki consists of bus, tram, metro and train services and is divided in two zones: internal and regional. Internal covers the inner city and regional the whole Helsinki metropolitan area. Single fare tickets can be bought from bus drivers, tram operators, automats, and by text message. Each metro station, ferry stop, and train station is equipped with at least one ticket automat.

Most users of the public transport have a Travel Card (Matkakortti), an RFID card used as an electronic ticket. Users can load period (kausi) and value (arvo) on their cards. Period ticket offers unlimited travel for the dates paid for. Value is used to pay for one trip, which may contain changes. The price of a single trip is lower when paid with the travel card instead of buying a single fare ticket.

Single ticket: €2.20 (Helsinki), €3.60 (Region)
One day travel card: €6.00 (Helsinki), €11.00 (Region)
3 day travel card: €12.00(Helsinki), €22.00 (Region)
5 day travel card: €18.00 (Helsinki), €33.00 (Region)
