Turkey: Will volcanic ash affect your purchase in Turkey - GrahamFlaherty
Volcanic Ash - will it affect your Turkish property purchase?
A long awaited journey to Turkey has been the saving grace for an uneventful and dreary winter. You have been eagerly anticipating the warm Turkish hospitality and sipping on a smooth cocktail in the silky sunlight. If the Icelandic Banks sublime effort on crippling British household savings was not enough to spoil your summer, the land mass has erupted scurrilous Volcanic Ash that has threatened to disrupt Britons travel plans imminently.
Through the misty dust clouds it emerged that several hundred potential property buyers have had there plans thwarted buy this inconvenient act of God. Future trips, like old insurance claims, have been filed away only to be revisited when absolutely necessary. At what cost to the property industry in Turkey?
I have spoken with several property developers who have mentioned, with great disappointment, how viewings have dried up and concern for the medium term effects of continued airline disruption on Turkish property for sale. Potential buyers are equally aggravated that the hours of research and planning have been wasted as some purchases may now have to be pushed back indefinitely.
I believe that from the ashes a glimmer of hope can rise as we contemplate the opportunity it presents; less visitors means more desperate developers willing to do what it takes to win your business. The age old rule of supply and demand could play in your favour in this instance. Grasp a hold of it!
