Turkey's boutique beauty - 16 July 2007

Turkey has long been popular as a destination for well-priced family holidays, and the logical progression has been for repeat tourists to purchase holiday homes in the major tourist centres. The opening of a new hotel in one of the most popular of the tourist areas could signal the beginnings of a shift upmarket.

The Casa Dell’Arte hotel in the resort of Bodrum is a lavish new boutique-style residence just 15 minutes from the heart of the town. Operating as a hotel-cum-gallery, the property only has 12 suites, all of which are individually decorated with original works by Turkish painters.

Should you begin to tire to the endless art, there is a private beachfront for the exclusive use guests as a perfect antidote to the mass-market appeal of the town’s beaches, markets and nightlife.

In attracting this kind of clientele to previously-unexplored destinations, there is potential for more high-end developments to arrive in the resort, with ever more luxurious properties being built to accommodate this new demand. In any case, the new hotel should provide a boost to the general holiday market in the area, and thus to the tourist rentals of property in the area.
