AIPP rewards service - 9 October 2008

The winners of the inaugural Association of International Property Professionals (AIPP) Awards were announced last Friday in a gala presentation on the River Thames. The awards, of which BuyAssociation.co.uk’s Property Editor Paul Collins was one of the independent judges, were launched this year by industry association the AIPP, with the aim of improving standards of customer service across the international property market.

In focusing the awards on customer service, staff training and marketing transparency, the AIPP is aiming to drive standards in the industry higher. Rewarding those who provide exceptional levels of service to their customers are rewarded while also being held up as an example to the rest of the market.

Judged in two stages, to a set of independently-agreed benchmarks, the awards were judged firstly by a panel of industry experts and secondly, by impartial professionals with some knowledge of property. Chairing the second panel of judges was Christopher Hamer, Ombudsman for Estate Agents. He said, “In my view awards such as these contribute to higher standards of business operation and most importantly to customer service.”

The AIPP Awards were also not a marketing exercise to reward all entrants in the most obscure categories. Only nine winners were announced, with no runners-up. The winners are:

Best small agent: Off Plan Property Abroad
Best medium agent: Casacalida Properties
Best large agent: The Right Move Abroad
Best Central and Eastern Europe developer: Alpha Panareti
Best Americas developer: Someplace Else
Best developer, newcomer: Caversham-Barnes
Most outstanding example of customer service: Casacalida Properties
Most transparent marketing campaign: Kuvera
Best staff training: Property Frontiers

Paul Owen, CEO of the AIPP says, “The AIPP Awards have been set up to reward agents and developers who do exactly what they say they will for their clients, and do it well. The current difficult market presents an opportunity for agents and developers to set themselves apart from the competition. Indeed, it has never been more important for an agent or developer in the international property sector to have their own house in order, and to ensure their business practices match consumer demand and deliver value to a demanding client base. I am confident that the AIPP Awards will continue to drive standards upwards as well as celebrate excellence and encourage its attainment.”
