Breast implants are used to increase the size of the breast and are generally made of silicone or saline. Joining Maggie Philbin in the studio to explain exactly how they are used in breast augmentation is Simon Withey from the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, or BAAPS.

Simon touches on the safety of implants, especially silicone, and shares his expertise on the specifics of the procedure, such as recovery times and risks, which include the possibility of ‘over-augmenting’ a breast. However, done well, the results can look extremely natural.

Costs and the availability of the procedure are also discussed.
