Ultrashape - the verdict - 25 July 2008
Posted by Felicity 8 comments
Slimmer yet heavier...
My Ultrashape experience has now drawn to a close. On Wednesday I visited the lovely Melissa at the I Care For My Body clinic in Knightsbridge to have my final measurements taken.
The result? A 9.5 centimetre reduction overall on my thighs – hurrah! In the last month, I have been very bad though – drinking wine and eating chocolate with abandon – I really lost my diet mojo. I have also, as I discovered when I stood on Melissa’s fearfully-accurate digital scales, gained 600 grams (more than half a kilo!). Urgh – so all those extra empty rosé calories have been going somewhere.
A couple of facts – my thigh circumference measured exactly the same as the last time (the second visit), meaning that those 600 grams have settled elsewhere – my chin, maybe? More likely it’s on my bottom. The average centimetre reduction for a course of Ultrashape treatments is 6 centimetres. So, despite being a glutton, I still exceeded expectations.
The cost of this treatment at about £600 per visit is a little high, but it’s cheaper than liposuction, and it really does depend on how much value you personally put on feeling better about your body. As far as treatments to lose weight and tone up are concerned, short of having painful and potentially risky surgery such as liposuction, a tummy tuck or perhaps a gastric band, you could do a lot worse than considering at this treatment. Yes, you need to be committed enough to change your lifestyle and habits – but there is no weight loss treatment in the world that doesn’t require some level of commitment and change on a personal level. I mean, why have liposuction if you intend to go on eating all the pies?
I do have a nagging question that makes me wonder. Had I stuck to my regime of healthy eating and exercise, perhaps I would have lost even more? There’s no way of knowing. What I don’t feel bad about, however, is the fact that overall I am thinner and healthier and not so hung up on wearing my bikini in France on holiday next week. This is down to the fact that my saddlebags are reduced and for that I think I need to thank Ultrashape.

The link at the top of this post has sessions priced at as little as £100, but do remember that it often takes three or more visits to see a discernable effect. You might budget around £450 - £600 for treatment on a specific area.
There is no substitute for a good dose of internet research on prices - you should also find out lots more about the treatment in the course of your enquiries!

Hi Paul
Where is the link? I'm really interested in this procedure and where I can get the treatment for £125!
7. Paul Collins - April 28, 2009
Hi,
If you click on the text that says 'I Care For my Body' in italics in the first paragraph of the blog post it should take you to the right clinic. I also found the sessions by internet search.
Thanks,
Paul
