This month's article looks at different ways of decorating interior walls in a child’s bedroom, reworking traditional themes with up to date modern designs that will amuse and engage your child for many years.

I remember as a child growing up with my eldest sister, our parents always choosing our interior bedroom wall ideas.

My room was always girly with pink and white floral walls, while my sister’s bedroom walls with red, blue and green zigzag striped wallpaper.

I never replicate it, but I will always remember it with fondness.

Decorating a child’s bedroom wall using an age-appropiate theme along with a child's favorite colours is a fantastic way to create a memorable space, a place they will never forget and a place they can call their own.

Mini Moderns
Mini Moderns is a range of interiors products for kids and kidults, designed and produced by London based design and branding agency, Absolute Zero Degrees.

Absolute Zero Degrees are a London-based design and branding agency, whose solutions for clients often include bespoke pattern design as a strong element of the brand identity. Formerly a graphics and textile print designer for Red or Dead, co-founder Keith Stephenson was able to utilise his skills to best effect when teaming up with Mark Hampshire, an experienced brand strategist.

Their ‘proof of principal’ was to create and manage their own brand, Mini Moderns, a print-driven collection of interior products including wallpaper and textiles for kids (and kidults!).

The initial wallpaper collection was snapped up by Heal’s and the brand goes from strength to strength, selling both online and via select stockists internationally.

Mini modern collections
'Pet Sounds' is a woodland cocophany of music making creatures - available soon in harvest orange, olive/powder paint blue and heather/bitter chocolate. Badgers have never been so cool - or so musical.

'Alice' celebrates 60’s rockers, Jefferson Airplane’s ‘White Rabbit’ heroine - and also happens to be the name of the girl it was designed for. Available soon in two colourways - powder paint blue, and mustard.

Available too, and growing more popular by the day, are the leaping carousel horses of ‘Fayre’s Fair’ in heather and ‘far out’ gold.
