Veneers are an increasingly popular dental procedure which involves the fixing of thin laminates to the teeth, an extra layer like a false fingernail.

Oliver Harman from the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentists tells Maggie Philbin the circumstances in which veneers are appropriate, for example if the teeth are discoloured, particularly small or unusually formed.

Oliver takes us through the processes involved, the costs and the aftercare measures. He stresses that it is a procedure that is largely irreversible.
