The UK property market is continuing to grow, and there is no denying the fact that London is at the epicentre of that growth. Deputy Property Editor of The Times, Judith Heywood, and the Head of Research at Savills, Yolande Barnes, join presenter Adrian Mills in this topical show to discuss the future of the capital’s property market.

Supply is currently very tight in London and, due to lack of available building space, it doesn’t seem as though this is a situation that is going to change in the near future. As a result, prime property is becoming more and more desirable and prices have risen by as much as 40 per cent in the past twelve months alone.

This up-market boom seems to be having a trickle down effect on the market, rather than a direct knock-on result. Houses have appreciated more than flats – a fact which is probably due to the sheer lack of family homes in the city.

Our experts believe that property in the transport area of Zone 3 is worth watching, as buyers are priced out of more central areas. Improved transport links and the Olympics will also have an effect on prices and so, even within London, it is still a case of location location.
