We’re talking buying overseas property for investment in this show, where Adrian Mills is joined by Dominic Farrell, Managing Director of Bewarethesharks.com and author of the book, “The Jet to Let Bible”, and Frazer Fearnhead, Founding Director of The Armchair Property Investor.

First up, Dominic talks us through the attraction people have to investing in property, how the home investment market has grown over the past five years, and the reasons for spiralling growth and demand. Dominic also shares his wisdom on the basics of what you need to do if you’re considering putting your money into an overseas venture, starting with your exit strategy and a very honest appraisal of yourself, your personality type and your attitude towards risk.

Adrian then puts Frazer on the spot to talk about other approaches to property investment, including Property Investment Clubs (PICs) and Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs). Frazer also talks about the different places to invest depending on how risky you like your investment, from southern Cyprus to Turkey, and the external factors you need to keep in mind, including the very real danger of terrorism and the possibility of popular regions becoming over developed.

Both Dominic and Frazer then join Adrian for a round table discussion which covers wide range of countries and regions, including the Baltics, Dubai, Morocco and the Spanish islands. The Bulgaria debate even rears its head again, with both guests expressing their opinions on this controversial and popular country. Discussion continues across a number of topics, including “Distressed” property, the risky process of flipping and the “EasyJet effect”, so you may need to take notes!

Also, the panel discuss and answer your email questions, including two “head to head” questions – the Algarve versus Cyprus, and Turkey versus Bulgaria, as well as the points you need to include in your contract if you’re planning to syndicate your resources with friends or family and invest together.
