In the last few years, a number of new treatments within the cosmetic surgery industry have emerged. Ron Myers, a cosmetic surgery and industry expert from the Consulting Room talks to Maggie Philbin about the latest developments in this fast-moving industry.

Ron outlines the new treatments in non-invasive treatments including body contouring treatments which use lasers or ultrasound to melt fat, rather than the standard liposuction method of using a cannula or tube through an incision.

Other developments in dermal fillers and fractional laser resurfacing are also discussed.

He gives an overview of how cosmetic surgery treatments such as facelift procedures and breast implants are subject to improvements in the areas of for example, reducing recovery time and side effects.

Ron also highlights that the standards in research and development of a new technique or procedure varies incredibly and that it’s important to do your own research into a new product you are interested in.
