Dermal fillers can be used to smooth out lines and wrinkles for those who would like a smoother appearance to their face. Dalia Nield from the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons joins Maggie Philbin to discuss this popular treatment, otherwise known as a non-invasive procedure.

Dalia discusses the conditions that dermal fillers are used to treat including deep lines, scars, wrinkles and other contour deformities. She outlines the differences between temporary fillers such as Collagen and more permanent ones. Dalia also tells Maggie about the pain factor involved and how topical anaesthesia is normally used to numb the area being treated.

As well as the risks, recovery times and costs, Dalia also reveals the importance of choosing the right filler and undergoing tests to avoid an allergic reaction after treatment.
