More than 3000 breast reduction procedures were performed in 2006, a 19% increase from the previous year, according to figures from the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS). Dalia Nield, a surgeon from BAAPS joins Maggie Philbin in the studio to discuss the specifics about this surgery.

Dalia talks through the reasons why someone would consider a breast reduction, including the fact that larger breasts can lead to backache. Also mentioned is the incidence of breast hypertrophy, which occurs when those with large breasts resort to weight gain in order to hide them.
